JSDD

Livingston, New Jersey

JSDD is a remarkable organization dedicated to training, educating, and empowering individuals with developmental disabilities through community engagement, creative expression, and life-skills development. To support their mission, we designed a 17,300-square-foot contemporary brick building that integrates learning, fitness, social development, a teaching kitchen, and a dedicated art and design studio.

The site includes a protected outdoor area to ensure safe vehicular access for clients and caregivers. Close collaboration with JSDD’s staff enabled us to incorporate the administrative and operational spaces required to support an organization of this scale.

At the heart of the building is a glass-enclosed art gallery an inspiring public-facing space that showcases work created by students and clients. With its flexible interior, distinctive design features, and open, welcoming atmosphere, the new center reflects JSDD’s mission and supports the wide array of programs they provide.
